He sits and waits
for the messenger to come
no reply has yet been heard
his call unanswered

the cry of the suffering masses
raises to new heights
as the blood reign continues

he stands at the door
looking out into the darkening world
the demons flit about on their wings made of human skin
he see's the torturing
the suffering

his mind reels as he thinks of his duty
the ones he loves hold him back
the thought of death hangs next to his head
his brother has passed him by
going before him, a path not expected

the call to serve still echos through the empty halls
the door remain opened
from the flight made in haste
he rushes to the safety of her arms

Her words do not cause respite
only cause more troubled thoughts
the questions arise again
once they were buried
now they awaken with renewd vigor

the bagpipes play the music of the gods
the flutes keep the beat
the drums pulse with the rhythm of the heart
he sinks to the floor
the words echo in his head

The question goes unanswered
there is no answer
the gods guide the man
he is still lost
the gods speak in the tongue of riddles

the valiant one travels ahead
leaving him behind
he wishes to be at the side of the ghost
