Anyone know alot about Darfur???I would like to hear someone else's opinion!

The conflict has left as many as 400,000 dead from violence and disease. About 100,000 have died each year because of government attacks since 2003. 2.5 million are thought to have been displaced as of October 2006. Famine alone has killed an estimated 95,000 people out of a population of 3.1 million. The GOVERNMENT Funded Janjaweed's are committing major human rights violations, including mass killing, looting, and systematic rape of the non-Arab population of Darfur. You can thank CHINA for supplying them with 90% of their weapons.” Rape is used as a weapon to terrorize individual women and girls, and also to terrorize their families and to terrorize entire communities."

And the UN won't call this genocide although it's as bad as any Nazi Germany extermination camp. The UN could have done something before the situation got this far out of hand but these people have been ignored and slaughtered. Could it be that this nation has nothing "financial" to offer any other country and the UN won't step in because a BARGAIN can't be made? Could it be world wide racism and people won't help because it's not a "white" nation having the problem? Could it be that people are blind to the fact that so many are being killed and terrorized because it's not happening in THEIR own back yard? For those of us who are sensitive and DO give a fuck, this is the worst travesty of all.....feeling helpless and having to stand by while everyone who HAS the power to do anything twiddles their thumbs.
