I rode like a granny the whole time & my friends splattered me with pieces of feces (cow pastures are full of it) & I had the best time of my life! The leg is not 100% YET but, it's doing fine & I should be chargeing the whoops like a demon in another (it takes us old farts longer to heal than you young whiper-snapers) year! I just got Oteps' "House of secrits" & of course, I'm blown away! I just descovered Otep 2 months or so ago. I'll savor this one for awhile, then get "Seves stra". It (KLR not the toe) was a heavy beast but, I took it out into the swamps & woods of Florida all the time. When I got my 450 KTM, it fealt lite as a feather & amazed me with its' performance, I feel like a fucking superhero on it! I Love all bikes though. I started riding when I was 8yrs. old, mostly Kawasakis (mc-90/km-100/ke-175/ f11-250/z1- 900/ gpz-1100/Ltd650 & my klr-650) then Suzukis (Rm-250/gsxr-750/gsxr1100) Hondas (cb-450/ xr-100) Yamaha (700-Raptor which is a 4 wheeler but, an amazing piece of Yamaha technology) & I have loved them all. I'd like to try a Husqvarna, Husaberg,gas-gas,atk,& the new 450 BMW.
In raceing some bikes are better at some things but, the skill of the rider is the main factor. There's a 64 yr.old man (my riding buddy) in my club who rides a kdx-200 & I can't catch that old basterd no matter what. He wipes out every time we ride, I don't wipe out often but, when I do it's usually a good one! I don't like to jump higher than 4 feet up, the 450-exc is a little heavy & the suspension is soft for woods (which is the kind of riding I like best). I fly through the tight stuff scuffing hand-guards & shoulders off trees with reckless abandon, fallen logs & palmetto stumps slow the other guys down but, I flow like water. I should stop bragging because all you european guys kick ass on the ugly stuff. If the gods are willing maybe we'll get togeather for a warp-speed tour of the woods, here or in Deutchland.
I've been a metal-head as long as I've been riding, moter-cycles & Heavy-Metal go togeather like hot-dogs & sour-krout or beer & Raw meat. My favorite beer is a toss-up between Deutchlands' Spaten-oktoberfest & Belgiums' stella artois. I love a good beer but, I don't like to drink in excess, I'd rather smoke some of the sacred bud & I don't like to get too fucked up on that. I did mushrooms a time or six when I was a kid but, drugs are for losers. Life dosen't have to suck, in fact if you got a good woman & a fire breathing dirt-bike (I have both) life is pretty Gods-damned good!
Do you race moto-cross or cross-counrty? Good luck on the Suzuki sponsorship. My suzukis were amazing machines, I'd live to have a turbo-charged Hyabusa or the off-road version of the RMZ450 that they keep talking about here in amerika!
